ISLAMIC CENTER COMMUNITY BUILDING
Project Type: Commercial (Concept)Location: Stafford, TexasProject Size: 42,000 sq.ft.
We’re excited to share the conceptual design for the new 2-story community and event building at the Islamic Center of Brand Lane, a branch of the Islamic Society of Greater Houston (ISGH). This thoughtfully planned facility will accommodate up to 2,000 people and serve as a dynamic hub for religious, educational, and social gatherings. The first floor will feature spacious event halls ideal for large-scale community functions like weddings, Eid celebrations, and interfaith events. The second floor will house lecture rooms, administrative offices, conference spaces, and smaller classrooms designed to support year-round programming and Islamic education. Architecturally, the design blends a warm brick façade with landscaped courtyards, shaded seating, wide walkways, and decorative lighting to promote community engagement and walkability. This project reflects a forward-thinking investment in faith, education, and inclusivity, creating a welcoming space for generations to come in the heart of Houston, Texas. It’s more than a building—it’s a center of connection, growth, and service, embodying the values of the Muslim community through purposeful and beautiful design.
This aerial rendering captures the full scope of the future community event center at the Islamic Center of Brand Lane. Designed to seamlessly integrate with the existing campus, the new two-story brick building sits prominently at the heart of the property, surrounded by thoughtfully arranged landscaping, tree-lined walkways, and shaded gathering zones. A spacious new parking lot offers improved accessibility and accommodates large-scale events. Adjacent to the main entrance is a beautifully designed shade structure—perfect for outdoor social functions or overflow gathering space. Behind the building, the existing green space is preserved for recreational use, featuring well-maintained soccer fields ideal for youth programs and weekend community sports. The image highlights not just the architectural vision of the facility, but also the functional planning and emphasis on community engagement, walkability, and outdoor amenities.
It can be deduced from this image that the left-side of the building is facing the existing school, thus have a single entry for safety, unlike the front that is facing the new parking area. The roof is a single low-slope roof with Air Handling Units located closest to the existing walkway in order to hide that from view while delivering a pleasant exterior aesthetic. The roof parapet is designed to mimic the existing design for the purpose of continuity and making the new building appear as a part of the overall campus of the Islamic Center of Brand Lane.
This aerial image is highlighting a potential 2-story open-air parking structure that will add 200+ very much needed parking spaces to the campus. It will be situated on a property adjacent to the Islamic Center's existing campus, with a hope that it will be acquired at a reasonable price. This parking structure will also feature 4 commercial storefront spaces each having about 2500 sq.ft. of space. Those might be leased to various businesses in order to enhance the campus-feel of the property and might include: a gym, a cafe, a library, etc.
